The level blockout is finished, though as you may notice it still needs walls, and cielings for that matter. I am keeping it this way for now to make it easier on myself when I work on it, and I will be adding the additional needed brushes as I go along. The floorplan is 100% there, though. Below you'll be able to take a look at it.

Now it is time to start modeling and texturing, I am not entirely sure which I want to start first so I will probably just do both as I go along. I would like to try to get a few textures done first because I think it sort of makes the theme of the level. I haven't decided on a color pallete so I will be figuring that out today.

I need to do a bit more concept material. I have plenty of ideas in my head for the art that are different than my original idea, and better even. I'll be looking around to try to get some decent references that go with what I am thinking of.

Goal: Know EXACTLY where I am going with the art by tomorrow.

Update and Plans

This weekend I will be blocking out the level. This will just be plain walls, simple geometry, etc. From there I can make sure everything works right and then proceed to "pretty it up". Speaking of which, below is a test normal map. It could be a little bit better. I'll get that sorted out soon enough.

Hello there.

For my capstone class I'll be constructing a game environment in the fabulous Unreal 3 Engine. Boy do I have some work ahead of me. For now here is the first concept shot. I like to do these to get the ideas out of my head (they cause a ruckus otherwise). There will be more of these.
Update: A few more added

At the bottom of this next image you can see some sketches of the level layout. I will most likely upload a much more clean and organized version of this since its probably unreadable for others. (If you CAN read it you get bonus points)
